  Got my card details stolen from online retailer. Froze my card to stop the withdrawals and called Westpac’s fraud line. On hold for an hour and told I cannot stop the fraud or get my money back.

  We're two travelers who had to identify themselves after opening an account online. One staff member immediately sent us upstairs where we spoke to a very kind lady at the counter. We then had a talk with Lina. She set up our accounts while explaining everything to us in a very kind way. We felt very comfortable! I don't get the bad reviews :)

  i swear everytime i come here to hv my problems solve, their staff always failed to help, now i can see its same with everybody also, no wonder d reviews r soo bad..!!

  This is unfortunately an aweful start to my link with Westpac. I banked with Westpac a while ago and then stop. I decided to give Westpac a go as my secondary banking institution. I tried to set up an account online and despite my best effort, the system was not able to verify my ID, which is fine, it might be even my error. I was told to go to the branch. The closest one to me is Haymarket. The reviews for the branch have been aweful but I thought I would give it a go and may be it would be different. Sadly, the reviews were true, this is the worst bank branch I have ever visited, including banks in less developed countries. it was dark and it was in such a mess. I waited for the enquiry desk staff for 10 minutes listening to this woman complaining about the ATM outside that ate her money. When it got to my turn, I told the lady why I was here for, she took my ID and was about to do the check. Another lady came along and asking her to go away elsewhere, took the card from her and handed it back to me and told me to go UPSTAIRS where there MAY BE bankers that can help me. I was absolutely appalled by the approach. I asked if I have to queue again upstairs and I was told EVERYONE is busy so there may be queue, I was like, nope, I have been waiting and got to the counter, sort this out. She still sent the lady away and begrudgingly checked my ID and stated that I have another profile with Westpac, I was like probably from the past. She was like if you want to merge the profile, you NEED TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT... uh 1. why do I care and 2. why do I need to make another appointment if you have established that both profiles are me. The service is aweful. I would never step foot in that branch again ever. This branch should long be closed.
